The Quit menu lets you open the different panes of the Quit CSM Settings control panel, allows you to quit, hide, show, exclude, include applications and lets you put your computer to sleep, restart it and shut it down.
 
• Applications...
Brings up the Quit CSM Settings control panel's Applications pane and lets you exclude and include applications and automatically hide applications on context switch. See Applications Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter.
• Menus...
Brings up the Quit CSM Settings control panel's Menus pane and lets you configure the Quit and advanced Quit menus. See Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter.
• Preferences...
Brings up the Quit CSM Settings control panel's Preferences pane and lets you set display options (icon, memory bar) and enable a show & hide Control Strip hot spot. See Preferences Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter.
• Quit <Application>
Quits the specified application. Checked if <Application> is the front application and dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents (see Why Can't I Quit this Application? in the Quitting Applications chapter).
• Quit Others
Quits all background applications listed in the Quit menu. Dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents.
• Quit All
Quits all applications listed in the Quit menu. Dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents.
• Exclude <Application>
Tells Quit CSM not to quit the specified application when you choose the Quit Others and Quit All commands. Excluded applications are not listed in the Quit menu.
This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Include <Application>
Tells Quit CSM to list the specified application in the Quit menu and quit it when you choose the Quit Others and Quit All commands. The Finder, Panels and applications not supporting AppleEvents can't be included.
This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Hide Others
Hides all background applications. This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Show All
Shows all hidden applications. This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Hide Front Application before Switch
If checked, whenever you switch from one application to another one, the front application is automatically hidden before the background application is activated (requires Mac OS 8.0 or higher).
This option can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Sleep
Puts your computer to sleep. This command is available provided your computer can be set in sleep mode (a low-power mode) and can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Restart
Restarts your computer. This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
• Shut Down
Shuts down your computer. This command can be removed from the Quit menu (see Menus Pane in the Quit CSM Settings chapter).
Advanced Quit Menu
 
The advanced Quit menu lets you quit and restart the Finder and quit excluded and background-only applications. To display the advanced Quit menu, command-click Quit CSM.
Notice that the advanced Quit menu is not available if you are using Quit CSM with Mac OS 9 or higher, Multiple Users is on and you're a limited or panels user.
 
• Quit <Application>
Quits the specified application or background-only application. Checked if <Application> is the front application and dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents (see Why Can't I Quit this Application? in the Quitting Applications chapter).
• Quit Finder
Quits the Finder. Dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents or the Finder is the only running application or, with Mac OS 9 or higher, when Multiple Users is on and you're not the owner of the computer.
• Restart Finder
Launches the Finder. Available provided the Finder is not running.
• Quit Others & BOAs
Quits all running applications, including the Finder and background-only applications, except the active application. Dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents.
• Quit BOAs
Quits all running background-only applications. Dimmed if the front application doesn't support AppleEvents.
Memory Menu
 
The Memory menu lets you quickly edit memory related settings. To display the Memory menu, control-click Quit CSM.
 
• Show Memory Bar
Shows and hides the memory bar.
• Display Largest Unused Block/Display Memory in Use
Shows either the largest unused memory block or the RAM currently in use in the memory bar. Dimmed when the memory bar is not visible.
• Show Application Sizes
Shows and hides application sizes in the Quit and advanced Quit menu.
Color Menu
 
The Color menu lets you quickly switch to a different memory bar color. To display the Color menu, shift-click Quit CSM (the memory bar must be visible).
